What is your proudest gaming-related moment?

For me, it was Oct. 11, 2008. It’s easy for me to remember because it was the same day that a friend of mine got married. LTG, who was the matron of honor, was gone all morning helping get things set up, while I stayed at home with the little kids and a goal: Unlock the Mile High Club achievement on Call of Duty 4.

If you are not familiar with this task, here is a video: https://youtu.be/OADPOuwtAn8

I didn’t watch that video all the way through, but no matter how easy or difficult it appeared, it was much, much harder than that. I replayed this short mission over and over and over. Finally I got to the end hallway and the doors opened revealing the terrorist with his hostage. I, of course, shot the hostage and had to start all over. Finally, after hours of frustration, I got it and that magic little achievement sound popped. Then I got dressed and went to the wedding.

That’s awesome. I don’t have anything quite as cool as that. Most of the big achievements that I can remember as huge happened back in the day on the original NES and Super NES. I remember finishing the first 3 Mega Man games, (something that I doubt I could do today) finishing the original Metroid game, and completing the 7th Guest and Myst on the PC. Good times. Back then people would set up cameras in front of their TVs and take pics of the endings of games to prove that they had done it.

only thing that comes to mind is the day i finished the game day of the tentacle, i was very young, didn’t use any guides or cheats and was able to finish the game alone in a matter of hours. i was very pleased with my self.

I am not much of a gamer, but… Related to the NES topic, my favorite moment would be when I finished MegaMan for first time. I have beaten Dr. Willy and make him to beg for mercy. Nice childish memories.

Oh, and that time when I play Minecraft…. every nerdy time. 🙂

I have a few. But it has to be when I made my first video with my two boys. They stole the show and were great. This is what got me in to making videos to try and capture that magic.

I think this video is exactly what made all of us fall in love with your family. There is something so sweet and cute for us Americans to hear children with English accents. THEY ARE SO CUTE!!

There is a picture of me and my brother in our scrapbooks next to our television in our room, at the end of Contra. We were so proud. We had no idea what the Konami code was and my friends accused me of using it to beat the game, because otherwise “its not possible.”

The day I beat Pool of Radiance, on my phenomenal C64. That rig was amazing, but the game pushed it to it’s limits! All 64k RAm of it. My best friend was over at the time, having sat through or traded turns with me for quite a while. We stayed up very later eating Swiss Cake Rolls, drinking wine coolers, and playing. I remember the most epic sight of a silver dragon, if memory serves, and I read the text in a deep, draconic tone. Glorious, I tell you.

I loved those books and games! Pool of Radiance, Pools of Darkness, and Pool of Twilight. My cousin and read them many times and also played at least two of the games. I don’t remember finishing any of them though. Thanks for the flashback! Oh, and the C64 rocked!

Curse of the Azure Bonds!! Every single time one of those dang tattoos disappeared, I cheered.
