I’m a huge craft beer snob. Anyone had any great beer lately that they’d like to share?

not much verity over here, most we got is Stella, Heineken, Tuborg, Leff, Kasteel and locals dark lagers that are smoky in taste kinda like Tuborg and Heineken. thing is in my area the same factory makes all the beers. i had some of the local microbrews in my area but the brewers tastes and mine are very different, they mostly make very herby beers and that might be the only kind apart from Guinness i don’t like. so not much new over here. :7

Where is “over here”? I thought you were an American. I always assume that most of Europe has better beer than I can get locally but that is slowly changing. We live in a very small town (6,500 people) and we’ve been dry, meaning alcohol sales were against the law, for the last 100 years. I was walking around one of the local grocery stores and noticed they are FINALLY starting to carry very nice craft beer. Not just the brands that we bought out by the big brewerys but good craft beer.

Found the perfect “shower beer” or “lounging in the lake in Texas beer”. I normally don’t care for lighter beers or fruity beers, but Leinenkugel Grapefruit Shandy is amazingly refreshing and light. I love it. It’s my new favorite beer as long as it’s summer in Texas. Come winter, I will be back to begging Q for Orc’s Blood.

‘over here’ is a controversial place and I’m never sure how to approach it :P, I’m not in the US or in Europe.

I like that beer too. Very nice and fresh. The beer I was talking about that I found at our local grocery store was Arrogant Bastard. They also have two kinds of Stone.

MrH and I recently had a couple of Samuel Smith’s “Taddy Porters.” Very good! We’ve been trying a variety of imports.
Craftbeerwise, we have a couple of 1/2 kegs of in his birthday Kegerator, both from Heavy Seas: Powder Monkey (which I just finished) and Crossbones (“session” IPA).
Homebrewwise, we’re due to rack our first attempt at a Saison this weekend. Last night, we tried our third attempt at an American Lager. It has turned out very nice.

Israel, nice! We ARE totally international now. I think GreatWolf might take offence to that though, lol. I like Samuel Smith but I would love to taste it in the UK. I am very sensitive to oxidation and I can’t remember the last time I had a British import that wasn’t oxidized. It’s not their fault though. The whole reason the IPA was invented was to make beer last longer shipping it to British troupes in India. Beer is sensitive and if it isn’t handled correctly we, the drinkers, will suffer.
